GRADE: Band 6

SALARY: £26,830 to £35,933 pro-rata

HOURS: 37.5hpw Permanent

Description of Role:
Can you use data to tell a story? An opportunity has arisen for a highly numerate
person, educated to degree level to work in health and social care integration in
Dumfries and Galloway. The senior business intelligence analyst post requires
demonstrable experience of turning data into meaningful intelligence and strong
communication and organisational skills. The post holder will provide specialised
advice on health and social care intelligence, statistics and statistical techniques to
information users at all levels to identify and meet the needs of service planners,
management and Health and Social Care Integration staff for performance and
business intelligence.

The post holder will use highly specialist knowledge of information systems and
software, statistics and analysis to extract, analyse, interpret, present and explain data
and their limitations. You will write and present reports that help managers to make
decisions about their business and also to communicate with the public.

The position is based in Strategic Planning within a well established friendly team of
analysts. Whilst the post holder may be involved with supporting the whole range of
business intelligence functions, the main responsibilities of the post involves supporting
community health teams to develop and report performance at an operational level and
to redesign their services. This will involve travelling to meet with people in the four
localities.
