Senior Business Development Manager

You know how to develop new business through targeting the right people and building long-term relationships in the Foreign Exchange world. Ideally you also know how to execute trades. This is your chance to source, contact, meet, on-board and account manage your own FX client desk with a professional, credible and growing FX specialist in the City.


Based in the heart of the City of London, our client is a fast-growing company with a calm, strategic method to attracting and retaining their clients through their outstanding service and market knowledge rather than a hard-sell approach or killing themselves on rates. They take time to understand their clients’ needs and this approach is bearing fruit in the ultra-competitive world of Foreign Exchange. They have built a loyal team who appreciate the meritocratic approach of the owners which gives the company a very high staff retention rate. If you’re good, they’ll support you and give you the time to build your own network of business.


This is a 360 role, unusual in this market: you’ll find the clients (whether that be through cold calling or from your own book of contacts); meet them; take them on-board as a live client; execute their trades; and manage their account for as long as they use your services. You’ll have the resilient outlook to generate new business and the credibility to meet C-Suite decision makers to win their trust. In addition, you’ll have to be able to build long-term partnerships by delivering on what you promise. It is paramount that you deliver an incredible service from the first encounter with the clients.


The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • 5+ years’ relevant FX sales experience
  • Transportable book of contacts
  • Proven ability to sell on phone and confidence to sell face-to-face
  • Ability to deal with a sophisticated client base (eg. Insurance and legal professionals)
  • Self-motivation and ambition
  • Experience of working autonomously to generate and manage new business
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
