Senior Business Development Executive

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Development Executive for a multinational inspection, product testing and certification company.

This position will involve you having a responsibility for a variety of business development support functions including: customer enquiry handling, proposal development, quote and contract tracking with associated administrative functions.

You will be required to:

1. Identify and pursue key potential business opportunities through research, networking and prospecting.
2. Achieve personal targets for conversion of new business.
3. Maintain complete updated status of all information relating to contacts, meetings and accounts, updating customer databases as appropriate.
4. Maintain client relationships and effectively manage client retention.
5. Communicate emerging or changing trends as well as any issues which may impact present/future sales.
6. Optimise the site’s visibility and presence in the market place, enhancing the penetration of key potential and existing customers.
7. Creation of business proposals and review of contacts in conjunction with Intertek legal.
8. Clearly communicate the company’s expectations and requirements to suppliers when necessary.
9. Independently troubleshooting and sourcing solutions and the ability to convey these to both Clients and members of the business to ensure understanding of the intended audience.
10. Maintaining an effective client/visit populated calendar over a continuous 4-6 week cycle in order to maintain strong relationships with key account holders.

You will be required to have:

1. Working knowledge of the personal care and healthcare industry with excellent commercial understanding and natural business acumen which can be translated to understanding both internal and external factors that affect both the Client and the business.
2. Understanding or experience of the regulatory requirements or ‘Good Working Practices’ which apply to clinical evaluation of personal care/cosmetic/healthcare products.
3. Bachelor level, or equivalent, in a scientific technical field.
4. Strong IT literacy and numeracy skills with previous experience of CRM’s for monitoring sales and proficiency in Office packages such as Word and Excel.
5. Previous experience of networking and building strong relationships in order to collaborate with both Clients and members of the business.
6. Previous experience of presenting to clients, external bodies and conferences.
7. Proven experience of effective time, project, and client management.
8. Extensive and proven sales experience, preferably within a global, multi-divisional organisation that offers technical business services. This includes the development of sales strategies and a strong track record of progressive sales achievements.
