Senior Business Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Business Analyst for an iconic retail brand in central London who are currently undertaking a major transformation programme. You will be an expert in Supply Chain Finance and will have experience of working on all financial aspects and flow of goods in and goods out i.e. financial asset management within a retail warehouse environment. Experience of both Waterfall and Agile would be useful.

  • Essential: Important to this role is a key understanding of Supply Chain processes and how these integrate with Finance and Controlling in SAP
  • Essential: You will need to be familiar with inbound and outbound logistics movements, such as goods issues and goods receipts, and what postings these create in Finance, such as stock, customs and duty
  • Essential: Understanding of inter-company processing in SAP, cross-border goods movements processes and the concepts involved behind using transfer pricing to calculate profit
  • Essential: You will need to understand inventory valuation and how different cost components will end up as part of inventory, or otherwise
  • Beneficial: Any experience of integration into SAP-WM, SAP-EWM or another warehouse management system would be highly beneficial
  • Beneficial: It will also be useful if you have some experience of product costing, manufacturing and quality processes, and how these integrate with Finance and Controlling

You will work as part of a team of Business Analysts undertaking a major transformation programme and will be the subject matter expert within supply chain finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical and functional requirements gathering using interviews, document analysis, workshops, customer visits, use cases and workflow analysis

  • Interpreting business issues, opportunities and user requirements

  • Key communication between all stakeholders

  • Participating in Project meetings to review progress, issues and risks

  • Follow in-house software development life cycle and suggest improvements

  • Analyses and maps business processes; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and recommends new approaches and improvements. Contributes to evaluating the factors that must be addressed in the change programme

  • Helps establish requirements for the implementation of changes in the business process

  • Reviews test conditions produced by the team to ensure they accurately reflect the requirements and design documents signed off with the business

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience of operating at Senior Business Analyst level

  • Strong experience and an advocate of Agile

  • Knowledge of ecommerce and multichannel business processes and a subject matter expert in Supply Chain Finance

  • Experience with documenting requirements and functional design in a structured manner using Use Case models and User Cases

  • High level of business acumen and impeccable organisational skills

  • Understanding of IT and Business processes in a multi-channel retail environment

  • Firm grasp of business models, fluency with business terminology, and mastery of basic methods and tools

  • Ability to see the big picture but also have a command of specifics

  • Comfortably discuss the technology underpinnings of the business and concisely state the unique value proposition

  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to perform duties effectively with minimum supervision and guidance

  • Leadership and high level people management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task

  • Ability to work with technical people and third parties

Supply Chain Finance transformation experience

  • Strong business analysis experience

  • Very strong process design and mapping

  • Planning and running outcome focussed workshops

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism

Deliverables include:

  • Requirements capture through epic user stories

  • Process Mapping (familiarity with SIPOC methodology is helpful). Levels 1-5

  • Test creation

  • Testing from a business perspective

  • Workshop facilitation

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Gap analysis
