Senior Bookkeeper

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Senior Bookkeeper & Administrator to join a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Leeds City Centre. Our client is an independent practice that has been around for over 20 years and has a highly regarded reputation. Reporting into the 2 partners, the main responsibilities and duties of this varied role will include:

Financial (office related)

  • Utilising Sage Line 50
  • Credit control
  • Sales Ledger
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly management accounts
  • Financial accounts


  • Providing front of house service in the office and over the phone
  • Managing staff holiday calendar
  • Maintaining stationary levels
  • Office maintenance and assisting with Health and Safety
  • Liaising with suppliers and providers
  • Assisting new starters with relevant paperwork / processes
  • Representing the firm in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assisting the partners with any ad hoc duties such as organising events

The Candidate

Ideally you will be an office manager from a small, independent firm of Chartered Accountants where you have taken ownership of the day to day running of an office including managing the companies accounts. Candidates who haven't come from a firm of Chartered Accountants will be considered also, however you must have at least 2 years’ experience in a senior admin or office management role coupled with managing company accounts. Alternatively, this will be suitable for experienced bookkeepers / Accounts Assistants looking for a more varied, senior role. As the successful candidate, you must have the following skills and competencies:

  • Managing company accounts using Sage Line 50
  • Managing a busy office in a "hands on" environment
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Confident and highly organised
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • A keen eye for attention to detail
  • A "Can do" attitude
