Senior Auditor - North East

About us and the role

TIAA is one of the largest specialist internal audit providers to the public sector in the UK. Our clients include some of the largest and most complex organisations in the country, and they look to us to provide them with robust assurance on their internal control and risk management arrangements. Due to increasing demand we are now seeking talented and skilled internal auditors to join and assist our winning team in becoming the premier provider of internal audit services in the UK. Applications from those with experience of the social housing and other not-for-profit sectors would be particularly welcomed, as would those with private sector experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a person who is already an experienced Senior Auditor or for someone who can demonstrate they have the requisite skills and drive to move up into this role.

As one of our Principal Auditors your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Participating in delivering internal audit reviews to assess robustness and effectiveness of the governance, risk and control arrangements.

  • Managing relationships with our clients.

  • Ensuring that all audits are carried out in the agreed timescales and in accordance with our quality requirements.

As a Principal Auditor your skills and qualifications will include:

  • Certified Internal Auditor (PIIA) qualified with a minimum of three years relevant experience.

  • Experience in carrying out internal audit reviews with the minimum of direct supervision.

  • Strong analytical judgement and effective written communication skills, using the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge and understanding in the application of the PSIAS.

  • Being an enthusiastic internal audit professional who can work with minimal supervision and is a team player, who is flexible and has a genuine interest in assisting clients.

  • Full driving licence.
