Required Skills and Experience:

  • Articulate and numerate
  • Commercially aware with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Independent, organised and able to work on your own initiative
  • Flexible approach to working to meet the needs of the business
  • Managerially hands on and technically able
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Pro-active and assertive
  • Current Driving Licence with own vehicle
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential development, construction and or property finance
  • MRICS or other relevant qualification desirable but not essential
  • Ability to read and understand property and financial documents such as technical QS / valuation reports
  • A deep understanding of administration, running and cost control of smaller construction contracts
  • Able to step into senior management role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting to manage a portfolio of short-term loans secured on commercial and residential property
  • Administration control of residential developments located throughout the UK but predominantly in London and the South of England
  • Loan management issues including repayment of interest, loan renewals and loan repayment
  • Maintenance of property insurance, payment of ground rent and service charges
  • Realisation of assets and completion of unfinished developments where necessary
  • Review QS reports and action issues / queries
  • Liaise with developers and their professional advisors
  • Regular Site visits - highlight potential issues and potential solutions. Monitor progress

Management Responsibilities:

  • Management of day to day issues arising in a growing loan book
  • Provide technical advice to underwriting department including review of valuations and reports on title
  • Interface with monitoring surveyors and legal advisers, valuers and LPA Receivers
  • Monitoring construction progress by regular site visits and draw down of stage advances on development loans
  • Monitoring development loans as to budget and program
  • Maintaining loans within credit mandate
  • Regular liaison with borrowers
  • Recovery of arrears of interest
  • Dealing with expired loans by negotiating repayment, extension or renewal
  • Approval of redemptions and release of security
  • Monthly reporting: Expiry / renewal & Board
