Senior analyst / junior associate

NRG Capital Partners is looking to expand the team through the recruitment of a senior analyst / junior associate in their London office. The company provides corporate finance advise for a range of companies of various sizes operating in either oil & gas, oil field services or mining sectors.

Key Responsibiliites:

  • Coordinating and assisting in origination and execution of M&A transactions;
  • Supporting the preparation of client presentations and pitches;
  • Supporting senior bankers in the coverage effort of key accounts and assisting in the development of business ideas;
  • Conduct sector and company research, quantitative analysis, company valuation, credit analysis and financial modelling;
  • Drafting deal execution documents such as Confidential Information Memorandums for financing and/or sell-side assignments;
  • Engaging with clients, other advisers and senior investment bankers in both origination and execution projects;
  • Taking an active and productive role in live projects and developing an understanding of our clients’ businesses;
  • Preparing complex financial analysis and models (merger models, valuation metrics, company forecasts, etc);
  • Analysing company performance on an absolute and relative basis;
  • Producing and maintaining various databases;
  • Attending client meetings where appropriate; and
  • Assisting with other deal and firm related tasks as appropriate.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level either in accounting, finance, financial management or economics (we will also consider natural resources focused technical educational backgrounds);
  • Relevant Corporate Finance experience supporting the origination and execution of transactions;
  • Solid understanding and deal experience within the Natural Resources sector;
  • Understanding of complex deals with structuring capabilities;
  • Strong quantitative, numerical and analytical skills;
  • Creative problem solving abilities;
  • Ability to represent the firm before clients and other professionals;
  • Leadership potential;
  • Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism and teamwork;
  • High levels of initiative; and
  • A good commercial awareness, logical and systematic approach, well developed report writing skills and attention to detail.
