Business area
The MOLT team provides Middle Office support to the Loan Trading Desk which is based at 10 Harewood Avenue, London. As part of its role the MOLT is responsible for checking the Front Office booking, the production of the Legal Documentation and the settlement of the secondary loan trades in accordance with the underlying Loan Agreements adhering to the LMA and LSTA Standard Terms and Conditions.
Job purpose
• Purpose: To work closely and support the Head of Middle Office Loan Trading UK, to handle the Par, Distressed and Claims trades, as well as the Banking Book trades done by the Loan Trading Desk
• Scope: Senior member of the UK team to provide guidance and assistance to the Montreal PAR trades team
Key responsibilities
• To work closely and support the Head of Middle Office Loan Trading UK
• To handle the Par, Distressed and Claims trades, as well as the Banking Book trades done by the Loan Trading Desk
• To co-ordinate settlement and booking of loan trading transaction with Back Office.
• To draft and send legal documentation (Market standard documentation) linked to the trades (LMA Par/Distressed Trade Confirmation, Transfer Certificate, Pricing Letter etc.)
• To work closely with the Loan Trading Desk Lawyer to draft non Market Standard documentation linked to trades.
• To draft documents and submit in a timely manner in connection with Claims
• To be a key reference point for the Par Loan closers in Montreal and to provide support when needed
Requirements
Essential
• Good PC skills (including strong Excel skills)
• To understand the fundamental policies and procedures of the bank
• A knowledge of how the Fixed Income business is organised: relationship between the Middle, Front Office and Back Office
• Settlement, P&L and accounting basics are useful
• Previous experience of Loan Closing supporting a high volume desk
Preferred
• Previous experience as a Distressed loan trading closer preferably in an Investment Bank
• Knowledge of Stapled Equity
Previous experience with Clearpar
