Senior Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fully competent Advanced Nurse Practitioner who is an independent nurse prescriber to utilise their existing clinical skills in the Out of Hours period on the Island of Cumbrae.

The Senior ANP will provide and be responsible for the clinical decision making for patients within Lady Margaret Hospital as well as assessment and treatment of patients out with this clinical area overnight and at weekends (including public holidays).

The Senior ANP will provide assessment clinical care and management of both the stable and acutely unwell patient and his/her family making complex autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and delivery of care. Working collaboratively with the island GP the senior ANP will assess diagnose and treat service users with a range of acute non acute and chronic presenting medical conditions utilising their advanced knowledge and highly specialist clinical skills to deliver the highest possible standard of care to patients and their families of the island community.

You must be a fully trained Advanced Nurse Practitioner working within acute care. The role will involve rotation to acute services in order to maintain the acute care clinical skill set and competencies. Additional training will be provided to develop skills in various areas including paediatrics maternity mental health learning disabilities trauma and minor injuries to ensure the Senior ANP can respond to the needs of island population who may require clinical input and intervention.

Hours: 37.5 per week
