Senior Actuarial Reporting Technician
£38,600 - £48,000 + 10% Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Based Wythall, South Birmingham (B47)
Making the move to Phoenix offers you the exciting prospect of applying your actuarial knowledge and expertise in a unique setting, with the UK’s largest closed life fund consolidator and one of 'Britain’s Top Employers'. We’re industry experts, but we’re always looking for ways to be better. You can help us to move forward by joining one of our talented Actuarial Reporting teams.
Working within the Assumptions Systems Team of our Actuarial Reporting & Financial Performance function, you’ll be responsible for providing all round support to the team's 'Business As Usual’ activities. This could include ensuring assumptions have been correctly set up, ready for uploading to our cloud-based modelling platform MG-ALFA or supporting the building of new design features into our actuarial assumptions as part of ongoing development and efficiency initiatives. The team also get involved with a wide range of project work, particularly arising from acquisition activity or new regulatory updates - so this could be a great opportunity to extend your skills and knowledge base within a friendly, supportive and experienced actuarial reporting team.
What we're looking for:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced actuarial technician, offering genuine potential for further experience to assist your continuing career and personal development. The ideal candidate would have a good degree from a numerate background, and relevant actuarial or financial services experience. You will ideally have completed the CT series of actuarial exams (or have gained significant practical actuarial experience to an equivalent level) and may be working towards the specialist subjects (although this is not essential, and formal study support is not offered as part of this role).
We love working with confident communicators, with plenty of drive and initiative and well-developed IT skills (with proficiency in Excel in particular). You'll be very much a team player, with an ability to work unsupervised, and the confidence to put your planning, organisation and investigative skills to good use. If you think this could be your ideal next role, we'd love to hear from you!
We value our employees highly and have been certified as one of 'Britain's Top Employers' for seven consecutive years. We put people first in everything we do and are always looking for new professionals to join our talented teams. Our funds are closed, enabling us to focus on areas that other businesses can't. This means that, among the many benefits of working at Phoenix (such as our incredible Wythall location and excellent rewards scheme), our staff can enjoy exposure to a diverse workload not found elsewhere. We're proud of what we do, and we offer excellent training opportunities, career development and company culture.
