Our client is a long-established organisation involved in a vast array of international business activities and with plans for further diversification.

Job Description

This role will join a wider team and take responsibility for the accounting services of a European subsidiary.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly management reports, including Sub-consolidations, Net Profit Analysis and Commentaries on a timely basis
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for a European subsidiary
  • Oversee the work of 2 Accountants
  • Supervise daily accounting function including checking of journals, payment authorisation and bank reconciliations
  • Liaison with Directors and staff, and provision of accounting treatment advice as required
  • Analyse process to make recommendations for on-going improvements
  • Training to improve and develop Accountants' technical skills within own team
  • Supporting the delivery of team objectives

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in a large international organisation with a complex group structure. They will be comfortable working with multi-ledger currencies and have experience of working to tight monthly deadlines. A good understanding of IFRS and experience of preparing accounts under UK GAAP is essential.

They will also need to:

  • Be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Broad level of accounting knowledge gained through an International accounting environment
  • Good technical accounting skills (UK GAAP and IFRS)
  • Good Excel skills (Vlook up and Pivot Table), Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in preparing basic UK Corporation Tax Computation
  • Familiar with SAP in particular and also Microsoft Dynamics AX - Able to make recommendations to improve the system if necessary

What's on Offer

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum + a generous benefits scheme
