SKS / Ward Mackenzie are looking for experienced qualified Accountant with Tax (and ideally Audit) required to lead Ward Mackenzie - Firm of Chartered Accountants and to take responsibility for a part of client fees.
Ward Mackenzie Limited, is a successful firm of Chartered Accountants based in Tunbridge Wells for over 25 years. Ward’s turnover is set to exceed £1m and the practice is a part of SKS Business Services Group, a £4.4m turnover practice with offices in Richmond, Farnham, Reading, Croydon. Clients include sole traders to SMEs with turnover up to £10m.
This position is a 'Director designate’, with potential for share ownership. There are two existing Directors.
To review work compiled by the accounts team, to liaise with and to provide financial information to clients from the reports produced. To effectively manage in-house teams across all locations and a shared services team based in India. To assist with the growth of the practice through management of current clients and acquisition of new clients.
SKS Group Director
To be the point of contact for all client liaison. Complete client profile summary.
Meeting clients to discuss accounts.
Where appropriate and jointly with India team, recommend financial actions by analysing accounting reports.
Advise clients on areas of business improvement.
Negotiate the terms of business with clients as required.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Detect and prevent money laundering.
To ensure accurate and timely billing and receipt.
Ensure India team is on schedule with invoice raising and client fee payment. Liaise directly with client when necessary.
Standardise and update client engagement letters.
Weekly update with SKS by Skype.
Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
Manage UK based accounting / admin staff as required.
Manage the office (alongside senior staff as shown in the organisational chart), IT systems, security, as appropriate.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops- reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Business Development - assist SKS Business Development Director as required to acquire new clients. Meet prospective clients, discuss requirements and create proposal (with assistance from Directors as required).
Extend the value chain by introducing new services to existing clients at all touch points.

The individual should have attention to detail, deadline-oriented and keen on research.
