121 Teaching Assistant (TA) - Urgent Temporary Position, some personal care involved

We urgently require a 121 Teaching Assistant (TA) to support a male pupil with a physical disability. This role includes some basic intimate care responsibilities and is crucial for ensuring the pupil's wellbeing and safety throughout the school day.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 6 pupil, ensuring his safety, comfort, and engagement in school activities.
  • Assist the pupil with mobility needs, including transferring between his wheelchair and toilet, and accessing the wet room.
  • Support the pupil's educational and personal development in a respectful and nurturing manner.
  • Work closely with educational staff and the pupil's family to ensure a cohesive approach to his care and education.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in providing one-to-one support and intimate care for children with physical disabilities.
  • Understanding and ability to handle the sensitive nature of intimate care with professionalism and empathy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Immediate availability, as this is an urgent requirement. Candidates with notice periods may not be considered for this temporary role.
