A popular, welcoming primary school in Walthamstow are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school to support a child with special needs on a 1 to 1 basis.

The Role

This SEN Teaching Assistant role involves working 1:1 with a non-verbal child with autism in the afternoons, providing tailored support to help them engage with their learning and peers. The role can be physically demanding and may involve managing challenging behaviour, so flexibility and resilience are key.

In the mornings, you will support children with special educational needs across the school, assisting in group activities and classwork. You may also be required to provide staff cover during playtimes and assist the teacher with preparation and administrative tasks as needed.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role will be full-time and is offered on an ongoing contract basis until the end of the school year.

The school are looking for a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant with previous experience supporting children with SEND, autism/non-verbal.
