SEND Teaching Assistant - Wakefield

Engage Education is currently working with a lovely SEN school based in Wakefield who are urgently seeking multiple special education needs support workers and teaching assistants to work across their campus starting as soon as possible.

The school caters for students from ages 2-19 years old with a wide range of needs. Their aim is to enable every child to achieve their full potential, individualism is key to this. The school recognises each child is unique in their character and their needs, this requires all staff members to work together to access successful outcomes for students.

About the role:

The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:

  • Profound and Multiple Needs

  • Physical Difficulties

  • Severe Learning Difficulties.

  • Care worker backgrounds and Health and Social Care

  • A university graduate who are looking to build their experience supporting SEN pupils in school settings

  • Candidates who never worked in school settings but have transferable skills supporting children and young adults with SEN

  • Have a positive mindset, flexible approach and a can-do attitude

  • Must be comfortable with personal care (feeding and toileting)

The school are seeking support assistants who are available for full time, long term positions until the end of the academic year on a long-term contract and there could be an option of a permanent offer.
