We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a SEN Cooordinator in the College. The main responsibilities of this role are:

* Line management of EHCP Coordinator and EHCP Specialist

* Oversee the planning for support and reviews of High Needs learners and EHCP learners

* Respond to draft EHCP consultations and requests to the Local Authority for EHCP's, producing and monitoring funding request forms where necessary

* To coordinate the gathering of information and complete information request from the Local authority linking to the EHCP Assessment process.

* Ensure support for EHCP's learners is coordinated, allocated, time bound and monitored for quality and progress

* Coordinate and carry out annual reviews for EHCP learners on behalf of the Local Authority and oversee other ALS/teaching professionals involved in the process to ensure consistency and quality, providing advice and guidance where necessary The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College. Essential requirements are:

* Level 3 SEND related qualification or equivalent experience.

* Level 2 qualification in English, Maths and a college IT for work or equivalent

* Experience of assessing, planning and reviewing support for young people and adults with SEND and EHCP's

* Level 4 SEND related qualification is desirable but not essential. We are looking for the successful candidate to demonstrate the following attributes:

* Strong team player who is compassionate and patient

* Ability to act calmly in difficult situations and respond professionally to stressful and challenging behaviour

* Ability to listen effectively and communicate at all levels up to A level
