SEN Teaching Assistants

Posted 20 July by Plymouth Education Easy Apply Featured
Reed Education Plymouth is currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Mentors, Learning Support Assistants and Pastoral Support Workers, for temporary work in a range of local schools.

Your work will focus on providing specific support to schools who offer Specialist Education throughout the area. This will initially be on a temporary basis, but can often lead to regular and ongoing assignments, as the schools' needs increase over the course of the academic year.

Every school is different, and they all have their own priorities when it comes to experience and skill set. Our job is to find out where you can be of the most value to a school, and to actively pursue those opportunities for you. For you, temporary working can provide flexibility, an opportunity for you to expand you professional knowledge, and gives you the chance to experience a particular environment before you commit to something long term.

You will be working with children and young people that experience a range of different barriers towards accessing education. These can be physical, mental or behavioural, or a combination of all three. Understanding what these barriers are, and the reasons they exist will be key to your success in the role. You must also have a genuine desire to see children progress and succeed at school, and this should drive your passion for SEN support work.

If you have experience of working within an education setting and supporting students that require extra help then please get in touch by hitting the ‘Apply Now’ button or calling your local Reed Education branch. We look forward to hearing from you!
