SEN Teaching Assistant - Canterbury, Kent

Academics Canterbury is seeking a positive, proactive, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded school in Canterbury who focus on supporting children with ASC, ADHD and SEMH.

This large, purpose-built setting supports pupils with a wide range of learning needs and is known for its warm, inclusive culture, exceptional facilities, and commitment to helping every child flourish both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with pupils who require emotional, behavioural and academic support
  • Help students regulate emotions, develop resilience and engage positively in lessons
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions
  • Assist teachers in delivering structured, motivating and supportive learning activities
  • Contribute to a safe, stable and nurturing environment where every pupil can thrive

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within a SEN setting/ SEMH background
  • Passion, empathy and desire for working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • A strong communicator who is able to work collaboratively with staff and pupils
  • A willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience or aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant

** Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students

** £85 - £100 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only

** You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship

** On site parking included

** SEN Teaching Assistant - experienced OR aspiring
