SEN Teaching Assistant - Aylesbury (Autism & Complex Needs Focus)

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with autism and a variety of complex needs. You will be supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning, build independence, and develop key life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with autism and complex learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Offer emotional and pastoral support, promoting well-being and positive relationships.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with autism and complex needs (essential).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with learners.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
