SEN Teaching Assistant - Swindon

We are currently working with a fantastic school that is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP on a full-time basis. This welcoming and inclusive school supports young people aged 11 to 16, with a strong commitment to helping every student thrive both academically and emotionally.

As an SEN teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers and educational professionals to provide essential support tailored to students with special educational needs. Your role will be vital in creating a nurturing, positive environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Key Information - SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Full-time, 08:30-15:00 (Term-time only)
  • Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Swindon
A Day in the Life of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Supporting students who face challenges with their learning
  • Creating a warm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation
  • Helping to maintain a clean and organised classroom space
  • Encouraging and motivating students to achieve their personal best
This SEN Teaching Assistant role would suit someone who:
  • Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly
  • Is patient and supportive, especially when working with children who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and collaborates well with staff
  • Is adaptable and responsive to the dynamic nature of the classroom
  • Holds a Grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths and English
  • Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (preferred, but not essential)
