Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: St Helens, Merseyside
Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in St Helens. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays)

  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

  • Help manage behaviour in line with school policies and positive behaviour strategies

  • Support pupils with personal care needs, if required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school, nursery, or care setting

  • A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) is desirable but not essential

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
