Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistants
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Contract: Full-time, Long-term, Temp to Perm

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join an SEN school in Andover on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people and helping them reach their full potential. Temporary opportunity which can lead to a permanent placement for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 1:1 and Group Support: Work closely with students who have additional needs, providing tailored support to help them engage with learning activities.
  • Assist with Learning: Support classroom teachers in adapting lesson plans and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Behavioural Support: Help implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Social and Emotional Development: Foster a safe, nurturing environment where students feel supported both academically and emotionally.
  • Personal Care (if required): Assist with personal care tasks, where necessary, to ensure the well-being of students.
  • Collaborative Working: Work alongside other staff members, therapists, and educational professionals to develop and deliver effective learning strategies.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioural challenges, and other special needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with different abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Flexibility to work on a full-time, part-time, or temporary basis, depending on school needs.
  • Hold an Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS or be willing to apply.
  • Own transport required due to location
