SEN Teaching Assistant required to work in a Secondary school within the borough of Lewisham
Your new School
I am currently working with a school within the Lewisham area that are looking to take on an SEND experienced Teaching Assistant until at least the end of school year. The school is located close to a local train station and easily accessible via public transport. Due to school expansion this position has arose and are looking for an immediate start.
Your new role
This position will be mostly working on a one to one basis providing support to children with SEN but may also require you to be able to provide group interventions. You will be responsible for ensuring children are supported with their daily classroom requirements and help encourage academic development. As well as this you may be asked to help the teacher with general day to day classroom duties.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous relevant experience is vital as you will be expected to deal with challenging behaviour and various other SEN support. A patient and caring nature will be ideal for you to be able to deal with the pressures of this challenging yet rewarding position. You should be able to demonstrate previous experiences of performing a similar role.
