We are currently seeking a SEN experienced Teaching Assistant to work with autistic children on behalf of a friendly and welcoming secondary school based in Hammersmith. The potential candidate would need previous experience supporting children with special needs, as you must be able to build a strong rapport with the students and to encourage a positive environment in the classroom.

The candidate must have the ability to use their enthusiastic character to engage with the children and should be able to demonstrate an empathetic nature that shows your students your genuine concern for their well-being. You must be able to show strong behaviour management skills, as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need to focus on the techniques to optimise their learning and maximise the comfort for every pupil.

This role is starting as a long term role, however may lead to a permanent position. The school has a fantastic environment with friendly staff members and a welcoming department.

The suitable candidate will have the following skills:

  • Excellent classroom skills
  • Keen to progress and develop within the school
  • Excellent team player
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to help with pupils personal care needs.

Please only apply if you have the following:

  • Teaching qualification based in the UK
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Hold a current and up to date DBS (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Has SEN experience in a UK based school
