To be successful, you will be versatile graduate who has a strong academic record with a 2:1 or above in Psychology or a relevant discipline, and previous experience working with SEN children either in a volunteer or paid role. You will be a graduate who can stay enthusiastic and show a caring nature. Your work as a SEN Teaching Assistant would depend on the age of the children and their individual needs. In your day to day job, you may be required to stay with one student and support their SE needs, throughout various subjects. However, you may also be used in a wider capacity across several different years groups and subjects. You will have to keep a record of the student’s progression and give continual feedback for the teacher. You may also sometimes have to attend training and meetings outside school hours.
