Your new school
Based in Huddersfield, this school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school has recently received additional funding so have the opportunity to increase support provided within Year 5. You will be working with a small number of children who require additional support during the school day.
Your new role
As a Teaching Assistant you will support a pupil in class who requires additional support. This pupil requires learning support and can have challenging behaviours. You will work with the pupil to encourage them in class, encourage participation and support them when they are frustrated. This is a nurturing role and you will work closely with the pupil and their teacher to achieve their full potential. Your main aim will be to keep the child calm so that they can stay in class and make the most of their time in school.
What you'll need to succeed
The right person will have a calming and patient manner and will be able to provide a positive atmosphere. The pupil requires someone with a nurturing nature and you will work closely with the pupil encouraging their best. You will ideally have a background in education, preferably working with children with SEN, however if you have the right attitude and manner experience is not necessarily a must have.
What you'll get in return
This is a full-time long-term position. Starting immediately, this position has funding until the end of the academic year in August 2018. This is a rewarding role, where you will work closely with a pupil, supporting their progress and encouraging them through their school career.
