Are you a dedicated and positive TA experienced supporting students with special educational needs and are you passionate about helping vulnerable young people to overcome barriers to learning?

This rewarding opportunity has arisen for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a special school starting as soon as possible initially on a temporary basis and if successful may lead to a permanent contract.

About the Role:
This SEN Teaching Assistant position will involve supporting students in small groups and on a one to one basis across Key stage 2 and Key stage 3. You will be helping pupils with a range of lessons across the curriculum as well as various extra-curricular activities. Many of the young people come from care homes or troubled backgrounds and so at times display challenging behaviour, so excellent behaviour management is essential with a broad knowledge of de-escalation techniques. Team teach, or similar positive handling training would also be beneficial, although not essential.

About the school:
This Ofsted 'Good' special school caters for around 10 pupils in each unit across Primary and Secondary. Students have a range of Needs, such as Social Emotional and Behavioural difficulties and Mental Health issues and attachment disorders. This SEN service provides the best quality of education and care for vulnerable children through a vibrant curriculum which fully prepares pupils for their future economic well-being and nurture outstanding personal development.
