Our client is a very friendly pupil referral unit that caters for students across KS1,KS2 and KS3. They are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work across KS3 and support a group of students on a one to one basis. Class sizes are very small with 4-5 in each group.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be prepared to work in a challenging environment, but enjoy working with a great team . The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will have experience working with students with a range of SEN Needs. If you enjoy working in a challenging environment where every day is different, then this school could be an ideal work place for you.
Many of the children at this school are vulnerable and are in need of a positive role model. The school provides a fresh start for young people who have felt threatened, ignored or disengaged from mainstream education.
If you have any of the following skills, attributes or experience then this role could be for you.
• Strong behaviour management
• Psychology or Social work graduates are often successful at this post
• Relationship building
• Willingness to learn
• Good understanding of special education needs and students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
