Your work will focus on providing specific support to schools who offer Specialist Education throughout the area. This will initially be on a temporary basis, but can often lead to regular and ongoing assignments, as the schools' needs increase over the course of the academic year.
Every school is different, and they all have their own priorities when it comes to experience and skill set. Our job is to find out where you can be of the most value to a school, and to actively pursue those opportunities for you. For you, temporary working can provide flexibility and an opportunity for you to expand your professional knowledge. It allows you to experience different settings and ways of working so you can decide what suits you best!
You will be working with children and young people that experience a range of different barriers towards accessing education. These can be physical, mental or behavioural, or a combination of all three. You should have a genuine desire to see children progress and succeed at school, and this should drive your passion for SEN support work.
