Person Specification - Psychology Graduate

This school are looking for a dedicated 2:1 or higher Psychology Graduate with a strong academic background. Previous SEN experience is essential, preferably within a school setting. You will need supportive social skills to quickly build and maintain strong relationships within the School. The ideal candidate should have a passionate desire to learn and develop your SEN Skills. You must take a 'firm but fair' approach and be able to respond quickly to the child's needs.

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant you will be working with an ASD year 1 boy who struggles with communication. His behaviour can be disruptive within the class room and needs one to one assistance. Her Literacy skills are improving but in comparison to her Numeracy skills they require much improvement. The little boy is well known within the School since starting in Reception and has a good relationship with the School SENCO. You will be working with the SENCO working on lesson planning going forward.

The school has recently been renovated and funding has provided new and exciting facilities for the SEN pupils including withdrawal rooms, a new outdoor play area and new learning materials. The nearest tube station to the school is within a short walk and the school also has a carpark for all staff members for those who drive.
