Are you an experienced and passionate educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex autism? We are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join a specialist setting in Bradford, where every day brings the opportunity to transform outcomes for learners with additional needs.

About the Role

As Lead Teacher, you will:

  • Take responsibility for leading a class of pupils with PMLD and complex autism.
  • Develop and deliver highly personalised learning plans that meet individual needs.
  • Lead and inspire a team of support staff to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Work closely with families, therapists, and multi-agency professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Drive innovation in teaching strategies, communication approaches, and sensory integration.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Has proven experience working with pupils with PMLD and/or complex autism.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Is creative, resilient, and committed to inclusive education.
  • Understands alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton) and sensory-based learning.
