SEN Learning Support Assistant (Part Time) - Barking and Dagenham

SEN - Special Needs - Autism - ASD - ARP - PECS - Personal Care

Engage Education are currently working with an Ofsted "Good" primary school who are looking for a specialist SEN Learning Support Assistant to work Monday and Friday's.

The position is within a mainstream primary school, however, will be based in the schools Additional Resource Provision for children with Autism. The provision has a sensory room, two teachers and 5 teaching assistants. They have 12 wonderful children from EYFS - Year 6 some of which are non-verbal and use PECS to communicate.

The school are looking for someone with experience either in a special needs school or provision previously. Those from a support worker background are welcome to apply also.

**Please note as part of your job role you must be able to provide personal care**

You must have:

  • A child's only DBS registered on the update service
  • Experience using PECS to communicate with non-verbal students
  • A sound understanding of working with children with Autism
  • Strong behaviour management skills
