Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Location: Surbiton

Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP / Jan 2026

Are you a patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual looking to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Surbiton, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Complex Needs.

About the Role:
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils’ learning and emotional development.
  • Implement individualised learning plans under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Support communication using tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables.
  • Engage pupils through sensory activities, play, and structured routines.
  • Assist with personal care and promote independence.
About You:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting).
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a positive approach to challenges.
  • Knowledge of autism support strategies, sensory needs, or communication aids is an advantage.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
