Semiconductor Process Engineering Manager

Job Context:

The Process Engineering Manager is a key technical and leadership role within the business and has responsibility for wafer process development engineers, process architects and also product engineers. Working in an environment with a mix of high end R&D, new product introduction, and low volume high quality production, this role is key to ensuring efficient development of next generation products, and meeting our customer needs.

Main Responsibilities:


o Ensure all team members have clear goals with aligned deliverables to meet the needs of our customers o Ensure robust performance management to ensure ongoing development of the team o Drive the skills development programme to ensure teams have the capability, capacity and resilience to deliver on time in a multi project environment o Demonstrate core behavioural characteristics and instil collaborative and innovative working across the team to achieve objectives o Drive a culture of continuous improvement, where teams capture and embed learning in design of future processes o Lead a "quality first" approach throughout every stage of the product lifecycle o Ensure application of proper health and safety working practices, to adhere to company guidelines and best practice


o Drive best practice in improvement techniques and structured problem solving utilising lean six sigma methodology o Ensure a data driven approach to improvement, and lead robust statistical process control techniques in all areas o Utilise Design for Six sigma/Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques to ensure robust processes and products are developed.

o Drive structured yield improvement within all processes o Lead the process development roadmap to ensure that process capability and toolset stays at the forefront of technology and enables the product roadmap



o Track record of process ownership and engineering leadership in a semiconductor environment o Good degree in relevant subject (for example Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electronic Eng.) o Demonstrable application of structured problem solving techniques; o Demonstrable experience in implementing and leading lean six sigma techniques;


Good knowledge of III-V materials in relation to wafer processing and etch; ; Post-graduate qualification in a relevant technology area;
