SEMH Learning Support Assistant - Hackney

* Primary/Secondary Special School

* Based in Hackney

* Full-Time

* Daily pay £64-£75 depending on experience

Empowering Learning are looking for confident and dynamic Learning Support Assistants/Support Workers to support pupils with SEMH difficulties. The pupils demonstrate difficulties with emotional regulation and social interaction and maybe experiencing mental health problems. They are also looking for individuals who can use their initiative and be hands on, building a strong rapport with students who have a variety of needs. Our Special School which is based in Hackney provide an inclusive learning environment for children and young adults, who have SEMH and challenging behaviour. They offer a personalised programme and curriculum, enabling individuals to develop their life, social and independent living skills.

Job Responsibilities

* Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis

* Supervising children in & out of the classroom

* Encourage and support the pupils learning

* Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements

* Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant/Classroom Assistant

* Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities

* Strong communication skills

* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

* Available 3-5 days a week

* Able to commit to 3-6 months
