Empowering Learning currently has a fantastic opportunity available for a confident, experienced Teaching Assistant. One of our mainstream primary schools in Bolton are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with in their SEN provision.
Prior experience of supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties is essential. If you have the patience and empathy to help vulnerable children progress in their education, then this is the perfect role for you. For the successful candidate, this full-time role will commence in September 2018 and will initially be for the full academic year and possibly be extended further.
The role involves supporting pupils with SEMH (EBD) throughout the school. You will work closely with class teachers to implement individual's EHCs and to liaise with the school SENCO on the pupil's development. You will need to have broad experience of working with similar pupils in a mainstream education setting and have the compassion to support and nurture each pupil.
To be considered for this Teaching Assistant post you will:
-Have a minimum of 6 months experience of supporting SEN pupils in the last 2 years.
-Level 3 Qualification desirable but not essential.
-Have an ability to work as part of a team coordinating the care of a pupil (including class teacher; parents; school SENCO; members of support agencies).
Successful appointment will be dependent on obtaining an Enhanced DBS Check.
