Section Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are looking to recruit a Section Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor to work for a prominent and well-established steel business near Barnsley.

The successful Section Engineer will report into the Works Manager and will be responsible for managing the sites 120 crane maintenance operations and a team of 5 plus contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

* Direct and control the crane team to meet the business requirements and achieve the required standards of plant, availability, costs and performance
* Provide technical and engineering expertise to develop plant and resolve engineering problems
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers of labour, equipment and maintenance of plant to achieve the required standards of service and cost
* Manage a framework of competence based training and assessment of staff and industrial grade employees and agency labour to an agreed training matrix and efficient time scales

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* Capable of managing, motivating and developing a team
* Strong engineering management background in heavy industry
* Practical and technical knowledge of crane maintenance desirable
* Proven success in a Engineering Management position

Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8.00-16.00

Salary paying up to £40,000 with an attractive package, including 39 holiday days and excellent pension scheme
