CS2 Limited is a leading commercial building surveying consultancy delivering independent, expert advice through a network of offices across the UK. Formed in 1999, we have offices based in Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Northampton (HQ). We are continually expanding and have additional surveying staff joining us throughout the year.


We are looking for someone to join our existing admin staff in our Manchester office and manage/assist the surveyors with all their requirements and facilitate the speedy turnaround of information to our clients. The office currently consists of 11 surveyors ranging from graduates to directors.

The role will broadly consist of:

  • Audio/copy typing various items including but not limited to letters and large documents. Formatting said documents, paying particular attention to presentation and spelling.

  • Switchboard and reception duties, organising incoming and outgoing post (including delivery to nearest post box/post office), emailing, photocopying and filing, arranging meetings (both external and in-house), taking minutes of office meetings, opening/closing job files, checking and ordering stationery, and other similar tasks.

  • Liaising with CS2 offices and assisting with audio/copy typing as necessary.

  • Liaising with the Finance Department in relation to purchase invoices and other pertinent matters as well as being responsible for petty cash and banking cheques. Obtaining/collating receipts for expenses/credit card statements on behalf of the Director/other surveyors.

  • Undertaking external tasks within Manchester as and when required.

  • Preparing documentation prior to meetings and providing surveyors with everything they require.

  • Ensuring the office runs smoothly, dealing with any problems which may arise and liaising with the IT department as necessary.

  • Other similar tasks which may be reasonably expected in order to support the office.


The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate competence to undertake the range of general secretarial skills implied by this job outline together with the ability to grasp information quickly.

  • Have previous experience working within a professional office environment, preferably in building surveying but this is not essential. A minimum typing speed of 60 WPM is required and word processing skills to RSA Level 3 would be an advantage. All of our systems are computer based, therefore an advanced knowledge of Office is essential.

  • Hold an excellent command of the English language and grammar to aid quality assurance of documentation.

  • Possess a professional and polite telephone manner, well-developed interpersonal skills and be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Have the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy along with a flexible and dedicated approach.


This is a full-time position, typically 9.00am-5.30pm full-time (Monday-Friday). The starting salary is to be negotiated and we are ideally looking for someone who can start immediately; however, we appreciate notice periods may be applicable. The annual holiday entitlement is 22 working days in addition to statutory public holidays.
