Secondary Teaching Cover Supervisor

A school in the Barnard Castle area need an engaging Cover Supervisor for general day to day cover. The role is to work within a Secondary school setting in which work will be provided and you will use it to deliver the lesson. You must ensure that work is completed and that progress is made. The role will begin after the February half-term break and will run until at least the summer holidays.

The ideal Cover Supervisor will have an outgoing and tough persona and will maintain a high standard of teaching in order to keep students on task. This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience working in a Secondary school, which will look good on your CV.

It is essential that you have at least 3 months experience working with children aged 11-18, in which we can reference.

Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor
*Teach secondary subjects to ages 11-16;
*Demonstrate strong classroom management and cover teaching using available resources within the classroom;
*Promote and push the students to achieve the expectations set in the absence of the teacher.

To be considered for this position of Cover Supervisor you must have:
*Experience of group management of 11-18 year olds;
*Excellent and proven behaviour management experience;
*Shown commitment to learning and development of pupils;
*Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and students.
