The Role

As an SEN Secondary HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to thrive academically and socially. You will collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to create a nurturing learning environment that meets the diverse needs of every student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted support to students with SEN, both one-on-one and in small groups.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalized learning strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers to adapt curriculum materials and resources to meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the well-being and academic success of all students.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Secondary HLTA or similar role, with a focus on supporting SEN students.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective strategies for intervention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with best practices in SEN education.
