Second in Maths Department Job Specification

First and foremost, it is important for you to be a Maths Teacher who has a proven record of raising and maintaining standards within a Maths Department. You will need to have the foresight and vision to ensure the Faculty is continuing to move in the right direction. You will need the flare and drive to put this vision in to reality.

About the Second in Maths Department role

As a Maths Leader your role will involve you supporting the school's Head of Department in consulting, monitoring, assessing, implementing and evaluating strategies to improve teaching and learning and outcomes across the Maths Faculty. In this Maths Middle Leader role, you will also contribute to whole school improvement. You will get the chance to teach at A-Level so a desire to teach at Key Stage 5 is advantageous in this post.
