The Department & Role

Our client are a Specialist Distributor, focused on delivering first charge mortgages, second charge mortgages, commercial and bridging loans that meet client needswhilst providing a service to be relied on at every stage.

They are looking for a highly experienced professional with the ability to be able to understand the complex market of Specialist Second Charge Lending. You will be taking enquiries and placing them with the relevant lenders from a panel whilst assisting the administration team whilst ensuring there is a smooth process for each completion.

You will be required to carry-out pre filtering, fact finding and recommendations with clients to assess suitability and ultimately convert to leads to sales.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The use of empirical knowledge gained from industry experience to place vanilla through to difficult cases with a panel of lenders through to sale and provide assistance to the administration department through to completion
  • Ensure that existing pipeline is managed to a high level
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of the industry and trends in the market
  • To take a case from initial referral through the application process to sale
  • To take referrals for secured loans and then search from a panel of lenders to find solutions for clients with the best possible outcome
  • To professionally assess all cases from financial intermediaries in order to make informed underwriting decisions that are in line with Company Policies, Procedures and lending criteria
  • To provide advice to a number of varied client circumstances
  • Communicate with introducers and clients, building a strong rapport and relationship, working together to ensure clients applications are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Carrying out assessments with clients to determine their needs
  • Liaising with clients via e-mails, telephone and letter to produce a solution for the client.
  • Maintain service levels
  • Liaise with Lenders, Surveyors and intermediaries
  • Take ownership of each case through all the key stages of application to make sure that placement and client solutions are found quickly and efficiently.
  • Updating the case management system and ensuring its accuracy of case notes.
  • Must have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Be aware of and follow compliance procedures and processes and risk to the business
  • The ability to communicate accurately and precisely, proactively keeping all parties informed and up to date on current pipeline. Pre assess and filter leads into your own qualified fact find appointments
  • The ability to take positive, effective and timely action whilst prioritising workloads.
  • Work to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and achievement of department and individual objectives and sales targets
  • To work to targets set by management team
  • To attend all training as required by manager and to proactively improve product knowledge
  • Pre assess and filter leads into your own qualified fact find appointments

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to challenge and influence lenders with decisions
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good rapport building skills
  • Liaise with clients via e-mail, telephone and letter to maximise business opportunities.
  • Have a good understanding of the first and second charge mortgage market, including products that fit the niche areas of lending, adverse credit, self-employed,
  • Must have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Work to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and achievement of department and individual objectives and sales targets.
  • Provide support to team members when required in order to ensure consistent levels of customer service and best practice is maintained.
  • Updating the case management system and ensuring its accuracy
  • Be aware of and follow compliance procedures and processes.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, fellow work colleagues and managers.
  • Maintain relationships, with lenders and other professional bodies.
  • Take all reasonable steps to determine the needs of external and internal customers and provide an accurate and prompt service to satisfy their needs
  • Communicate to appropriate people on matters outside the jobholders immediate area of responsibility
  • Time Management skills are required to work and adhere to deadlines.
  • The ability to take positive, effective and timely action whilst prioritising workloads.
  • The ability to make consistent and rational decisions after analysing the available information
