Based within Strathclyde Country Park, you will be responsible to the Assistant Business Manager, Environmental Facilities for over-seeing the general safety and behaviour of the public making use of the country parks facilities along with the collection of tickets for charges related to the use of the leisure facilities. Cleaning, allocation and maintenance of equipment and premises, general porterage and handyperson duties will also form part of your daily duties.

You should also be comfortable in and around water as the post involves operating the fun boat dock within the parks and assisting the public when entering or leaving the boats. You will also assist with the maintenance of the craft and have involvement in facility maintenance on the water in relation to the rowing/sailing courses.

You should be able to undertake physical duties, be a positive and enthusiastic individual with a pleasant and approachable manner. The ability to communicate easily with customers and clients, as well as some previous experience of general cleaning and maintenance of facilities and working with the public is required. It would be advantageous if you have a current driving licence, cash handling experience and are computer literate. The ability to undertake handyperson duties would also be advantageous.

The posts are temporary from April to September 2019 and will operate a shift pattern, for which the appropriate allowances will be paid. The working pattern will be:-

Week 1      Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (10.30am – 9.00pm)
Week 2      Wednesday, Thursday                                 (10.30am – 9.00pm)
