Your new role
Your main role will be to support the science department in the school by setting up classrooms and experiments ensuring that an orderly, safe and healthy environment is provided. You will be supporting teachers and students and ensuring there are sufficient resources for the lessons and will be directly supervising pupils as they carry out practical experiments. Other key duties will be to wash resources, maintain and repair equipment and accurately maintain records of stock and inventory. This is a varied and interesting role that offers excellent career progression for ambitious individuals. This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis and is term time only (39 weeks per annum)
What you'll need to succeed
The school is looking for an experienced Science Technician who is available to begin in September. You must have a strong work ethic and show a real passion for Science. You will have experience setting up equipment in a laboratory environment for practical lessons and have a good knowledge of COSHH in order to maintain health and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a school science department; however, we are also looking to hear from candidates who have a passion for science who can bring a level of enthusiasm into the role.
