Capita are currently seeking dynamic and dedicated English Teachers for one of our special schools in North West London. We are looking for individuals who are competent and hands-on in their approach to challenging behaviour, and who do not shy away from difficult situations.
Our North West London-based school is looking for a Qualified teacher (QTS) or Science graduate with strong behaviour management skills for non-class based tuition on a 1:1 basis.
The PRU specifically caters to pupils who aren't in mainstream education for a number of reasons, with some only attending for a short time while their education is supported until they can return to a mainstream school. In other instances, some pupils might attend the PRU on a long term basis. Tuition is likely to be needed outside of the classroom; often taking place in a pupil's home or a library.
Relevant risk assessments will be carried out for each child.
Due to the nature of EBD, the children require continuity of staff which means you must be able to commit full-time for at least 3 months.
Requirements to apply for this role, include the following:
* QTS or Degree in Science
* Experience working with EBD / in a PRU
* Passion and willingness to work with children with special needs
* Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour, which may or may not be physical
* Dedication and ability to commit full-time, for at least 3-9months
* Team Teach trained
Experience working with Challenging Behaviour is essential, and experience working within an education setting, as a support worker, health or care worker, in mental health, or in a PRU is desirable.
If you feel you're the right person for this role, we want to hear from you!
