One of my client schools, based in South East Birmingham is keen to add one or two high calibre graduates to their support team to work as Teaching Assistants. They are looking for graduates with a degree in one of the major science disciplines and hopefully good A Levels in at least one other science. They require hard working graduates who are able to turn their academic knowledge in to practical help for the school’s students.
There will be a combination of working in whole science classes, supporting the teacher and pupils, as well as working with small groups of pupils who might find certain aspects of the lesson/curriculum difficult.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be there to support the class teacher in any given topic, helping students grasp theories and gain a better understanding of set learning objectives in science. In this varying role, there will be time spent working with smaller groups, who may have difficulties in a given area as well as developing gifted and talented pupils.
If you’re considering a future career as a science teacher and would love to immerse yourself in a wonderful science department that is supportive and dynamic in its approach then this could be the ideal preparation for your future teaching career.
If you’re committed to a future in education and would like to put your knowledge of science to good use, then please email a copy of your CV to Patrick at Edustaff today.
