This primary school, located in RCT currently has over 150 pupils on roll from the age of 4 - 11. The head teacher provides a firm and purposeful leadership and has an effective oversight of the school. She works effectively with the well-established senior management team who are both supportive and proactive. A positive and supportive team spirit permeates the school; it is a calm and orderly community with a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Due to the maternity leave of a permanent member of staff, the school are now looking for a secretary
Your new role
As the school secretary, you will have a wide range of responsibilities including those associated with administrative and secretarial, pupil data management, financial administration & personnel data management. You will set up and maintain efficient office systems, draft and type correspondence, reports and other documents for the SLT, deal diplomatically with telephone enquiries and visitors to the school, keep a record of pupil absences and update other pupil records including SEN status, pupil results and ethnicity codes. You will also prepare financial data and income for banking, including school fund, charity collections and petty cash. Your responsibilities and duties will be carried out in accordance with the school's Health & Safety Policy relevant to guidance & legislation. You will promote the safeguarding of children at all times and will undertake training and professional development where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have school office experience along with a passion for working in schools. You will have an extensive knowledge of the SIMS system (School Information Management System) and will demonstrate a strong work ethic in everything that you do. Your organisation and communication skills will be vital to success in this position.
