This primary school, located in Penarth serves the Eastern Vale of Glamorgan. The school currently has over 200 pupils from the ages of 3-11. The number on roll has increased considerably over the last 3 years. Approximately 10% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is well below the national average of 21%. Very few pupils have a statement of Special Educational Needs. The Headteacher of the school provides dynamic and strong leadership, particularly through his innovative approach to many aspects of school life. Most Governors are suitably involved in determining the school's strategic direction and in the self-evaluation and school improvement processes. The school has a rigorous approach to self-evaluation, providing opportunities for staff career development.
Your new role
You will be the communications manager for the school which will include: typing correspondence; communicating with parents & others by phone/email; dealing with visitors to the school and incoming and outgoing messages. You will also be required to manage the School Information Management System (SIMS) with pupil information e.g. absences. As directed by the headteacher, there will be various other administrative tasks to complete.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a highly competent, experienced administrator with excellent communication & organisational skills. All school administrators are expected to demonstrate a commitment to child safeguarding.
