Your new School
This primary school, situated near Monmouth caters for over 100 pupils aged 3-11. Most pupils behave well, display excellent attendance levels and the service delivery provided by classroom staff, support staff and the headteacher is excellent. Recently, the school has developed an effective self-evaluation process and the new headteacher is keen to move the school forward, introducing several new improvement initiatives. The governing body is proactive, well informed and very supportive. All staff work well together and consider whole-school issues alongside national and local priorities.
Your new role
As the school secretary, you will act as the face of the school by meeting and greeting all visitors, answering the telephone, communicating messages to internal staff & completing ad-hoc administration duties as directed by the Headteacher. The role is 2.5 days per week; Wednesday afternoon, Thursdays and Fridays.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working within a school office. You will use your initiative and won't be afraid to take on additional responsibilities. Schools will expect all school administrators to have a good standard of education, previous office work and experience working with children to some extent.
